Elderly camp 2024: A memorable week

adminNews

This year's Elderly Camp was held at Belle Mare from the 18th to the 21st of July.

The excitement was at its peak on the afternoon of Thursday July 18th as participants arrived, and there were many happy and warm reunions.
After a carefully attended briefing, the “campers” were surprised to receive a special message from Pastor Miki Hardy and his wife Audrey, who were in Brazzaville for a BUILD conference. The greetings and words of encouragement from this dear couple touched our elderly campers deeply. The key phrase came from sister Audrey: “Have a blast!” It was with this positive energy that the camp began. Following this, Pastor Michel Nieva encouraged the seniors to experience a new life in Christ.

After a good night's sleep, Friday began with a time of prayer followed by a meeting with Pastor Mackenzie Lotoah. Then it was time for lunch. In the afternoon, everyone enjoyed a variety of activities, but always with the same spirit of fellowship and sharing.
At the end of the day, there was a time of worship, followed by an opportunity for some to share their testimonies.

Saturday was a very eventful day. After a time of prayer, praise and sharing, all who wished to do so were baptized. The main event of the afternoon was a game of Bingo, where everyone enjoyed themselves in a lively atmosphere, thanks to the excellent entertainment provided by the master of ceremonies, brother Michael Killing, who had come specially with his family.

Finally, Sunday came, and much too quickly, according to the campers, who didn't even notice the time passing, for they had enjoyed the 4 days so much.
The morning meeting was an opportunity for our brothers and sisters from Rodrigues to sing a song, then another group performed a song in Hindi before a final word of encouragement from Brother Michel.

The Lord did great things in the hearts and lives of our seniors during this camp. The Lord has done great things in the hearts and lives of our elderly during this camp. They are all very grateful to those who gave their time to care for them, with a special mention to the kitchen and Pastor Gérard Doorosamy, who provided excellent meals throughout the camp.
