The ‘Jesus Lespwar’ evangelism campaign took place in a friendly atmosphere at the Social Welfare Centre of Résidence La Chaux in Mahébourg on the 30th and 31st of August.
During the preceding week, the Christians had taken to the streets of this small seaside village to meet its inhabitants and were warmly welcomed.
On the first evening there was a moment of praise, the testimony of a Christian woman and an eloquent sketch. Pastor Jocelyn Neeladoo then shared the Word of God, reminding the congregation that Jesus calls all who are weary and burdened to come to him and be lifted up. As a result, 4 people came forward to give their lives to Christ.
On Saturday, the programme began at 2pm with special activities organised for the local children. Around thirty children attended. They enjoyed the activities so much that they stayed with the team until the evening meeting.
Meanwhile, a team led by pastor Decigen Raganakeddi carried out a joyful street evangelism, singing and encouraging people and inviting them to come and hear the Good News.
That evening, Pastor Jocelyn Neeladoo went on to share his own testimony, recalling how Jesus had saved him and set him free from his old life. His words resonated in the hearts of many who could identify with what they were hearing. Around fifteen people were touched, coming forward to receive Jesus as their Saviour and Lord.
