After Rodrigues, ‘Jesus Lespwar’ is back in Mauritius, and it's in a small coastal town in the east, Bambous Virieux, that ECOI's national evangelisation campaign visited on the 29th and 30th of June, for two days dedicated to the people of the region.
On Saturday afternoon, the children were invited to a special event organised just for them. They enjoyed the games that had been prepared. They were encouraged by the testimony of a young girl who told them what Jesus had done in her own life, as well as by a sketch performed by the young people of the church. A snack and the distribution of small gifts rounded off the fun.
In the evening, the meeting brought together around a hundred people in the village hall. After praising the Lord, hearing the testimony of a former alcoholic changed by Jesus and watching a skit, the participants listened to the Word of God. Pastor Ruben Ramsawmy shared a simple message: in the face of all life's difficulties, our only hope lies in Jesus Christ.
On Sunday evening, it was Pastor Jocelyn Neeladoo who encouraged those present in a similar direction, namely that Jesus is the solution for our lives, for our families, for our youth and for society.
Over the course of the two days, more than fifteen people were touched, acknowledging Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. The connection with the local people was excellent. In fact, meetings may soon be organised in the heart of the village.
